You can smile a little bit but you have to keep your mouth closed.

You can use makeup but it won’t disturb your recognisability.
Do I need paper passport photos or is electronic photos enough?
Usually just electronic photos are fine. If you don’t have a valid passport, you need two paper photos for your driver’s license.
